Ellie- Guest Dog Program's story
This is Ellie! Anyone who meets her can see what a great girl she is. Her expressiveness is so fun to watch...she howls at the sound of nearby fire engines, tilts her head side to side as she interacts in conversations, and thoroughly enjoys swimming in the lake. Recently, her DNA test revealed that shes a mix of 8 breeds! Dogs as lovable and fun as Ellie are so great to work with, and we are excited to help her find her new family through our Guest Dog Program!
Ellie is a beautiful mixed breed girl who is 4.5 years old, weighs 45 pounds, and sports a gorgeous golden coat. Her current family adopted her from the shelter when she was just a 4-week old puppy weighing only 4 pounds. Ellie and her family have lived a very happy life since that time, and the family doubled in number recently when Ellie's parents welcomed triplets! Sadly, Ellie has not been as excited about the triplets as her parents have been. Ellie seems so overwhelmed and is not adjusting well even after giving it her best shot. Although their hearts are breaking, Ellie's parents feel it is in Ellie's best interest to find a new happiness in a family without small children.
Ellie is a very happy girl. She tends to be a bit shy in new places with new people, but quickly warms up. She is in great health thanks to her loving family always keeping her updated on shots and medical care. She is house trained and has always been allowed to roam the house while the family is not there. Some of Ellie's most favorite things to do are going for jogs and walks, romping around in the back yard, playing a good game of fetch, and ending the day just snuggling on the couch. You might also find this silly girl on her back with all four legs in the air and she often drifts off to sleep just like that!
Ellie's biggest wishes for her new family are lots of activity, no kids, an easy-going environment, a good backyard for lots of running, and of course much love and attention. She is definitely happiest when she gets plenty of outdoor time. Slow introductions to other dogs while off her leash is the best way for Ellie to make new friends, but once she knows them, she enjoys their company. She chases squirrels, bunnies, and deer, and although she's never met a cat, she would probably chase them, too.
Ellie is spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated and on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. She has been the best companion for her family, and if you're interested in Ellie joining your family, please email placement@duckteam6.org to set up a playdate.
