"The star base at Atrell is under siege!" Eric Hart yelled across the faintly lit control room on board the starship Voyan. The large window at the front of the control room called the viewplate was completely filled with the silver blue image of the gigantic space station, a stark image against the blackness of space. He had a strong shaven face, broad shoulders and clear blue eyes. Images of the crew flashed on the screens of his command console. He grabbed the control grips and then brushed back a wave of brown hair from his eyes. Looking quickly across the control room, he stared at the other strong and rugged face. "I?m picking up signs of high-powered weapons activity in the fighter docks," the husky man named Josh, the helmsman said. He was sitting in his recliner at the navigation console on the other side of the control room from Eric. ?They?re calling themselves the Dragonslayers of Romar.? That was the thin scientist named David speaking from his image on the command screen. Though he was down the hallway in his computer control station, they were all linked together by the cameras of the communications system. Yellow images sparkled in the round lenses of his glasses. ?That doesn?t make any sense because we?re not even in the Romar star system.? "Battle alert!" Eric yelled. "I?ve got incoming weapons fire." A dazzling orange ray of light streaked across the viewplate. The sizzling beam of power ripped across the teardrop shape of the starship Voyan. ?The lead ship is firing. That?s a golden ship of the warriors of Romar,? Josh said. ?I?ve seen the computer news on them. They?re a pretty strange bunch with high-energy weapons that the big chiefs at Teon Command haven?t been able to identify yet.? ?Oh, that?s just what we needed. Like we don?t have enough trouble already,? Eric yelled. ?Look out! That clown is hitting us with that strange beam again!? Another dazzling blast of weapons fire crackled across the blue aura of the energy armor that protected the Voyan?s hull. ?Look at the scanner charts. Those are some very strange energy patterns," Josh said, brushing his hand through his curly blond hair. ?Damn! Here comes another blast!" A series of violent explosions shook the controls. "Full power to the lasers!" Eric yelled. He looked over, as Diane?s beautiful face at weapons control came up on his screen. Her soft round face was surrounded by long dark waves of hair. Pastel lips shimmered in the subtle lighting "I've got full power to the weapons. All our lasers are ready. I?ll blast those fighters from the sky," she snapped. Eric smiled at her image. Her large green eyes sparkled and then opened wide, when she swept back a long wave of hair from her shoulder. Her face was highlighted by the colorful graphics on her targeting screen. "Okay, fire!" Eric yelled. He grabbed his grips with strong fists. A dazzling yellow beam streaked across the viewplate. A violent explosion hit the golden fighter. Eric strained and pushed on his controls very hard. Another laser blast struck the other fighters that came swooping up at them. Eric?s eyes opened wide with horror. Giant purple and gold dragons flapping shimmering wings filled the starry sky before them. A dozen screeching dragons flew straight at them. The giant head filled the viewplate. Eric screamed. Orange flames shot out of the dragon?s mouth. He grabbed his grips and held on tight. The Voyan swung downward with great force. Suddenly, the giant face of a bearded warrior appeared in ghostly colors against the starry sky. A silver blade in a huge fist was the size of their ship. The ghostly warrior slashed the blade across the heavens. The dragon?s head reared back. A column of fire roared from the fanged mouth. An unearthly cry wailed through the ship. The great warrior cut the dragon?s head off. The flaming globes of its eyes filled the viewplate. It was flying straight at them. Josh pulled his grips hard to one side. The starship bounced off of the giant fangs. A blast from their lasers flashed. The monstrous head exploded. A ring of the shock wave from the explosion hit them very hard. A blinding flash of light filled the hallway just outside of the control room doorway. Eric looked over his shoulder. An armored form of a warrior from Romar appeared as a brightly colorful hologram. It was the same bearded face that Eric had seen just outside the viewplate. It was a very muscular figure with dark blue armor covering his shoulders. ?I am Skypar, leader of the Dragonslayers of Romar. Why have you interfered with my fight?? The round eyes on the bearded face squinted and then opened wide. ?I am Eric Hart of the starship Voyan. Teon Command sent us here to battle with a renegade wizard named Mystra. We are headed into the Krunos star system and we honestly didn?t see the dragons.? ?Battle onward, members of Teon Command. I am the one that is sorry that the huge energy forms of my warrior programs got in your way. But, the electromagnetic projections must continue. All of the dragons must be destroyed.? In a dazzling sparkle, Skypar was gone. With a bright flash, the huge form of the ghostly warrior filled the starry sky again. The great warrior attacked the reddish blue dragons with a swipe of his huge electromagnetic blade. Tight silvery muscles bulged on the warrior?s arm. Skypar grabbed his blade with both fists. The great blade struck a dragon with incredible force. Flames roared from a gaping mouth. Shrieking in the winds of the galaxy, the dragon spun across the starry sky. Another blast hit the dragon. It exploded with a fiery blast. The Voyan streaked into the open dock doors on the giant space station called Atrell. Eric and his crew were very familiar with the station. It was a major communication station for the home world named Teon. The wizards there controlled a hundred or so star systems in what was commonly referred to as the Teon realm. The teardrop shape came down swiftly, landing gently by the dock command center. Eric stepped out from under the Voyan. Bright blue light reflected off of his cosmic spacesuit. It was the heavy-duty model and made of a very shiny chrome material. And, when the mirror surface of the faceplate was in place it gave him the look of a silver knight in the shadows. He hurried down the ramp and stepped quickly up to the fallen form of a Teonar warrior that lay by the console. The silver knight picked up the head and stared at the small gray face. Diamond-shaped eyes were closed tightly. ?Doomon, my friend, what have they done to you?? Eric said painfully. The diamond eyes opened. The small gray face looked up. ?The dragons attacked without warning. With their strange and powerful energy beams, they disrupted all of the scanner systems on Atrell. Skypar and the other warriors from the planet of Romar have been chasing the dragons for a very long time.? The smaller figure coughed and then continued. ?The warriors of Romar are mad, calling themselves Dragonslayers. They are completely obsessed with killing all of the dragons. And, they don?t care who gets in their way.? ?They will care, my friend. This I swear. They will care,? the silver knight said bitterly. He got to his feet. He stared angrily out of the open dock doors at the battle just beyond the energy screens. He knew what had to be done. They had to attack the Dragonslayers and stop them once and for all.
