Stella - Puppy's story
This dog is being fostered in Dallas TX and must be adopted within the Dallas, North Central Texas or the southern Oklahoma area.

GENDER: Female (Spayed)
AGE: About 4 months
WEIGHT: About 5 pounds (probably about 5 - 6 pounds fully grown)
DOGS/CATS: Gets along great with other dogs, Unknown with cats
CHILDREN: Will be great with children 10 and older
Meet sweet Stella! This adorable puppy is about 4 months old. She is tan and white with adorable floppy ears. Stella will finish her puppy shots next week and be spayed. She will then be ready for a forever family the second week of July.
On May 3rd, we got an emergency call from another local rescue group. They informed us that a family had several Chihuahua puppies that were only a few weeks old. The family did not know how to care for them and needed someone to take them ASAP to keep them alive. CRT immediately drove over to get them. Thanks to the amazing dedication of our CRT volunteers, these little ones were safe and began to thrive in their foster home. They are now 4 months old, happy puppies and are ready for forever homes. Stella was one of those puppies!
Stella is soft, sweet and snuggly. She loves to play and play with her two siblings, Kate and Leo. They race around both inside and in the backyard playing with one another. Stella also loves to play with squeaky and chewy toys. Stella is the leader of the pack. She never takes her eyes off of her brother and sister. She even cuddles with the adult dogs in her foster home. Stella loves being outside - even in the summer heat. Note that Stella is small and therefore will always need her human near by while she is out (there are instances where hawks or large birds will swoop down and pick up small dogs under 5 pounds, so you will want to be there to protect Stella).
Stella also LOVES her people. She loves to snuggle and will give you endless kisses to express her love. Stella sleeps in a pen at night and happily receives her big girl treat with the other dogs in the house. Stella is a great girl and will be a wonderful addition to her new forever family.
Stella is about 5 pounds and we think she will be 5 - 6 pounds when fully grown. She will be great with children. Due to her small size, we recommend homes with children 10 and older. She would love to have another doggie play mate in her new home to play with!
Stella is working on potty training! She is learning to go potty outside but will also use pee pads inside. She does a great job going on a pad in her pen and will go outside as soon as we take her. When shes busy playing, she sometimes forgets and might have an accident in the house on occasion. But she is learning quickly! She is crate trained and will go into her pen to eat, or when it is time for a nap!
Stella is scheduled to have all vet work completed the first week of July and will be ready for adoption about July 9th. We are taking applications now. If you are thinking of multiple Chihuahuas, please check out her litter mates Kate and Leo!

This dog is a CRT rescue. Reference checks, adoption contract and $300 adoption fee required. As part of our mission to reduce the number of unwanted and sick dogs, we require that all current pets are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and taking heart worm prevention. Applications will not be considered if one or more of these requirements are not met.
